Robert Pattinson as Batman

Writer: Hazem Nabil

Despite already being in Reeves’ mind and dressing up for the audition, Pattinson was in close competition with actor Nicholas Hoult. The two stars took part in tests that were heavily discussed by Reeves and studio reps for several days, before they ultimately agreed to signing Pattinson to become the next Batman.

I’m honestly a huge Batman fan, and I hope Reeves’ choice of Batman’s actor won’t disappoint us. Batman, as we all know, has a few distinctive features, and I thought I might list some of them below to make the judgementeasier:-1) Batman has an athletic body, which allows him to dodge bullets effortlessly, move around swiftly and disappear from a crime scene, leaving the criminals unconscious and handcuffed, before the police arrives. Pattinson has an athletic body, and is actually a male model, so he definitely would be a perfect fit considering the athleticism part.2) Batman is stealthy and usually takes down each gang member silently without alerting the rest of the gang. Robert Pattinson was a vampire in Twilight, so he would totally be used to working in the dark too.3) Batman’s only visible part of his body is the jawline. Come to think of it, Batman’s time in the film is better spent inside the mask than without it, making the jaw one of the most prominent consideration for Pattinson’s casting, if and only if the makers had that in mind. Sooner than later, images of Pattinson’s chiseled jaw started circulating on social media, citing this perfect feature for the perfect origin story.4) Batman has enough power to break down doors by one kick or break sewers with his bare hands. Thanks to C.G.I. and green screens, I don’t think Pattinson won’t be able to do that.

In my opinion, Matt Reeves is gonna be a perfect fit for this role.

“It’s very much a point of view-driven, noir Batman tale,” Matt Reeves told The Hollywood Reporter in January. “It’s more Batman in his detective mode than we’ve seen in the films. The comics have a history of that. He’s supposed to be the world’s greatest detective, and that’s not necessarily been a part of what the movies have been.”Batman is changing, and it’s about time we got a new Bruce Wayne more in line with the character’s classic depth. Pattinson can deliver just that.
