There was once a little girl who was retching out her dinner. Her mommy had always told her, “You’re too fat. Why don’t you get thinner?”

There was once a little girl who could never speak her mind. Her mommy had always taught her to say “yes” without being inclined.

There was once a little girl who felt as though she wasn’t supposed be alive. Her mommy had always told her, “I should’ve gotten an abortion! I knew you’d never thrive!”

There was once a little girl who felt as though she’ll never be good enough, no matter how hard she tried. Her mommy would always compare her to her friends and siblings, paining her from inside.

There was once a little girl who had a low self-esteem. Her mommy would always call her “stupid” and poke fun at every dream.

There was once a little girl who wouldn’t let go of her boyfriend’s sleeve. She feared that if she let go, he might as well leave. Her mommy had always told tell her, “I will abandon you someday and be gone between day and eve!”

There was once a little girl who had learnt not to trust anyone. Her mommy would always make empty promises; none of them were ever done.

Her mommy would always say things that she doesn’t really mean. They weren’t physically harmful, but have caused an emotional demean.
